Abstract

(p. 92)

The study made of a small sample of fauna remains, found during an excavation just south of Schagen (fig. 1), prompted an investigation as to whether the information available on several types of environment prevailing in the Netherlands in former times can give an explanation for the composition of livestock in settlements situated in these environments, as evident from excavated faunal remains. The actual description of the faunal remains from Schagen will appear elsewhere (Clason & Prummel, in press).
