Abstract

(p. 144)

In June 1939, A.E. van Giffen (then Director of the Biologisch-Archaeologisch Instituut of the State University at Groningen) excavated part of a large tumulus, "La Motta", situated on the edge of a plateau overlooking the valley of the river Leguer and the town of Lannion near the north coast of Brittany (fig. I). Under the tumulus was found a stone slab cist containing a rich Armorican Early Bronze Age burial.

To his own regret, as well as that of others, Van Giffen never got around to finishing preparations for publishing the Lannion excavation.
